(Beaver Dam) Swan Park will be buzzing with activity Tuesday night as Beaver Dam takes part in the annual National Night Out. The event is free and open to the public, and Planning Committee Chairman Chuck Stangl says it serves an important purpose for the community. He notes that often times the interactions the public has with law enforcement are during unusual and stressful situations, while National Night Out offers a casual and stress free way to build positive relationships.
Some of the agencies scheduled to be on hand at the event include the Beaver Dam Fire Department, Beaver Dam Police Department, Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, and the DNR. Planning Committee representative Kristi Hartzheim says that the evening will also feature a number of other things for attendees to do including enjoying music by Top Flight DJ’s, getting a snack from Cousin Subs, Chippy’s Popcorn, Marcos Pizza, or Recheck’s Food Pride.
Hartzheim adds that aside from the food available to purchase, multiple community service groups will also be on hand to provide useful information. They include Blue Zones, Five Stones, Church Health Services, and attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to Second Harvest Food Bank. National Night Out will be held on Tuesday August 3 from 5pm till 8pm at Swan Park in Beaver Dam.
