(Beaver Dam) Beaver Dam-based Nancy Zieman’s Productions along with PBS Wisconsin will be hosting the Great Wisconsin Quilt Show on August 19th. Event highlights include a 10-category juried and judged quilt contest, lectures and workshops from leading quilt educators, an 85,000 square-foot vendor mall and special quilt exhibits.
This year’s special exhibits will include honoring the pioneering career of Klaudeen Hanson, a Sun Prairie quilter and judge who helped establish the Great Wisconsin Quilt Show, and many other national quilting events. Organizers say Black history will also be shown through Karen Hinton Robinson’s quilts.
They add that they are works of art created by a mother who found a solution to unjust representation in her daughters’ education.
