Multi-County Pursuit That Ends In Dodge County Leads To Sizable Drug Seizure

(Lomira) A multi-county pursuit that ended in Dodge County resulted in a significant number of drugs being seized. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office were notified just after 10pm Tuesday by Winnebago County authorities that a vehicle had fled from a traffic stop and was traveling on Highway 41.

A deputy spotted the vehicle near Townline Road and pursued the suspect southbound into Dodge County where local sheriff’s deputies assisted. The nearly 14-mile chase ended when the suspect lost control, entered the west ditch, and crashed near Quad Graphics in Lomira. The driver, identified as a 28-year-old man from Racine, fled on foot but a K-9 team quickly located him and took him into custody.

A search of his vehicle revealed a loaded handgun and a digital scale. Authorities also located five Ziploc bags that contained counterfeit oxycodone pills laced with fentanyl and three bags of cocaine. The suspected fentanyl pills had a total weight of 297 grams, an equivalent of around 2,500 individual pills. The cocaine weighed in at around 84 grams.

The suspect is facing numerous felonies including Fleeing, several felony Possession charges, and First-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety. The investigation is still on going.
