Missed Sextortion Event? You Can Now Watch It Online

(BEAVER DAM) People who couldn’t make it to a Dodge County event on sextortion now have a chance to watch it back — and learn how to better protect their kids online.

5 Stones of Dodge County hosted the community awareness event Thursday night, focusing on how online predators target teens and how quickly those situations can turn dangerous. Now, organizers are sharing a full recording on YouTube so more people can see it.

The presentation features John DeMay, along with Luke and Brittany Bird, who spoke about losing their sons to online exploitation.

Representatives from the Wisconsin Department of Justice Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force also break down how sextortion works, what warning signs to look for, and how families can step in before it’s too late.

Sextortion involves someone pressuring a young person to send explicit images, then threatening to share them unless the victim meets demands for more images, money, or other requests.
