(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Area Orchestra is holding their last concert of the season next weekend. Local celebrity and high school sports announcer for WBEV and DailyDodge Mike Throndsen is narrating “Casey at the Bat.”
It is based on the poem by Ernest Thayer and depicts a baseball team from the fictional town of “Mudville.” Orchestra officials say there will be something for everyone at this concert including Danzas Cubanas, Over the Rainbow, Selection from Jesus Christ Superstar, and others.
Throndsen is one of the founding members of the Beaver Dam Community Band and has been playing trombone and serving as a concert moderator in that group since its inception back in 2000. He has played trombone in the pit orchestra for several Beaver Dam Area Community Theater summer musicals. Throndsen also previously played trombone in the Beaver Dam Area Orchestra from 1998-2010.
“Casey at the Bat” will begin at 7pm next Saturday, April 15th, at the Beaver Dam High School Auditorium located at 500 Gould Street.
