Michael “Mike” Decker, 77, of Beaver Dam passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Waupun Memorial Hospital.
Michael was born on November 19, 1947, the son of Leroy and Norma (Vande Zande) Decker in Beaver Dam. He was a graduate of Waupun High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. On October 7, 1972, he was united in marriage with Marcia DeYoung in Randolph.
Mike spent his career in the finance and payroll department of Clearview Nursing Home until his retirement. He began his lifelong journey of faith at Faith Community Church in Beaver Dam; where Mike served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and a Cadet Leader. He later became a member of Harvest Ev. Free Church in Beaver Dam. In his free time, Mike enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing softball and fishing.
Mike will be deeply missed by his wife of 52 years, Marcia; his son Kevin (Sara) Decker of San Antonio, TX and his daughter DeAnn (Dan) Gerard of San Antonio, TX; six grandchildren: Lydia, Quinn and Evelyn Decker and Elijah, Lily and Ransom Gerard; his brothers: Terry (Kathy) Decker and Vince (Ellen) Decker both of Waupun and his sister Gail (Oscar) Hartwig of Horicon. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bob Decker, brothers-in-law Richard DeYoung and Phil Karow.
A memorial gathering for Mike will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Harvest Ev. Free Church, W7444 Hwy 33, Beaver Dam. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Larry Meyer officiating. Private family inurnment will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Beaver Dam, WI.
In lieu of flowers, the Decker Family requests that those attending the service bring a non-perishable food item or cash donation to the Beaver Dam Food Pantry.
