Menasha Man Gets 7½ Years in Prison for Child Sexual Abuse Material

(MENASHA) A Menasha man is headed to federal prison after investigators found thousands of images and videos documenting the sexual abuse of children hidden inside his home.

Todd E. Grimm was sentenced to 90 months behind bars after a judge said the case showed both the seriousness of the crime and the lasting harm done to victims. Once released, Grimm will spend 15 years under supervised release and must register as a sex offender under state and federal law.

The case began last spring with a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Investigators used that information to obtain a warrant to search Grimm’s residence and electronic devices.

Inside the home, law enforcement found a flash drive concealed in an envelope behind a desk drawer. Prosecutors said the device contained more than 12,500 images and videos of child sexual abuse material downloaded from the internet. Authorities also said the flash drive included written stories authored by Grimm that described the drugging and sexual assault of young children.

The investigation was handled by the City of Menasha Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel R. Humble.

Federal officials said the prosecution was part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide Justice Department initiative aimed at identifying victims and holding accountable those who exploit children online.
