Mayville Man Gets Jail Time For Running From Police While High On Cocaine

(Neosho) A Mayville man will spend nine months in jail for running from police while high on cocaine. Lynn Davis pled no contest to felony counts of Fleeing an Officer and Possession of Cocaine and had a felony marijuana possession and misdemeanor Obstruction charge dismissed but read into the record. Last April, a police officer with the Neosho-Rubicon-Ashippun Police Department spotted a vehicle with expired plates and illegally tinted windows in the Village of Neosho. When the officer approached, he noticed an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and the driver’s bloodshot eyes. According to the criminal complaint, Davis repeatedly denied requests by the officer to search his vehicle for any illegal substances. The 35-year-old then sped away but the falling snow and deteriorating road conditions limited his speed to between 20 to 30-miles-per-hour. As the pursuit reached State Highway 67, Davis was able to reach 60-miles-per-hour. Tire deflation devices were deployed and a short time later, Davis came to a stop on Highway 60 and was arrested. Davis apologized for his actions and told authorities (quote), “All I wanted to do was smoke some crack and get high.” Two small bags which tested positive for crack and marijuana were located inside the vehicle.
