The Marshall football team enters the 2023 football season looking for a four-peat in the Eastern Suburban Conference. The Cardinals have not lost a conference game. Marshall made a postseason run to the 3rd round last season where they were knocked out by Mondovi.
“People might expect us to be down a little bit because we’ve had a couple of good years, but we’ve got a really good senior group.” Marshall coach Matt Kleinheinz told 1430 ESPN. “We’ve got a very large junior group and our JVs were undefeated last year, so we like our group and we really feel like we will reload and not have to rebuild this year.”
Returning Cardinals who earned All-Eastern Suburban Conference honors in 2023 include;
1st Team: Offensive Line: Peyton Gundelach (Offensive Lineman of the Year)
Flex Offense/Defense: Bryden Klubertanz
2nd Team: Running Back: Matthew Motl
