(Markesan) The City of Markesan is switching garbage and recycling companies to GFL Environmental next Tuesday.
GFL environmental is a sustainability-oriented trash and recycle service that aims to lessen carbon footprints in the area.
GFL is currently operating under a Sustainable Action Plan with the goal of doubling the company’s use of biogas by 2030. Markesan’s pick-up schedule will switch to every Monday with recycling being bi-weekly starting January 2nd.
GFL delivered new carts to residents last week.
Residents need to put out both current Advanced/Waste Management garbage and recycling cans today.
They should be left out until Waste Management picks them up. Anyone with questions about the switch in services should call Markesan City Hall at 920-398-3031.
