(MARKESAN): Markesan (1-7, 1-5 Eastern Suburban) hosts Marshall (7-1, 5-1) tonight on DailyDodge TV.
With a win, the Marshall Cardinals will clinch a share of their fourth consecutive Eastern Suburban conference title.
Both teams share a similar play style, primarily running an option look on offense. Matthew Motl (Marshall) leads the conference in rushing yards this season with 978 on 131 attempts, while Markesan running back, Tyler Mast, ranks fifth in the conference with 749 rushing yards on 131 attempts.
“[Marshall] runs a version of option football as well, something we’re familiar with.” Markesan Head Coach John Dunlavy continued, “Hopefully we can have a decent plan against those guys.”
As for dealing with the potentially severe weather, Marshall Head Coach Matt Kleinheinz said in an interview Wednesday, “We have to make sure that we have plan B ready. We’re going to practice so that we’re ready for it [the weather].”
