A sheriff’s deputy patrolling south of Highway 33 near the town of Oak Grove in March observed a vehicle fail to stop at a posted stop sign. The deputy ran the license plate which showed the car was stolen out of the city of Monona.

A traffic stop was initiated but the suspect vehicle failed to stop as they approached North Crystal Lake Road in the town of Beaver Dam. The pursuit continued until the suspect failed to negotiate a curve near Kellom Road and crashed into the south ditch near Metalcraft.

The driver, identified as Hryzy, was arrested. The 21-year-old told authorities that a friend let him use the vehicle and that he did not know that [law enforcement] was following him.
