Fire Destroys Lowell-Area Barn

(BEAVER DAM) A barn between Beaver Dam and Lowell is a complete loss after a fire Sunday night. The Beaver Dam Fire Department was called to the fire on County Road G in the Town of Lowell shortly after 7:30 p.m. Fire Chief Michael Wesle said firefighters had to overcome cold temperatures and no municipal water supply. With the help of some other area fire departments, the fire was brought under control by about 10:00. Nobody was hurt.

Due to the size of the structure and the lack of a municipal water supply, mutual aid partners from surrounding departments were called in to help. Cold conditions and limited access to the barn presented significant challenges for fire suppression efforts. An excavator was brought in to assist with extinguishment operations. The fire was declared under control at approximately 10:00 p.m.

While the barn is considered a total loss, several nearby buildings were not damaged. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
