Lomira Man Arrested Following Domestic Abuse Incident

(Lomira) A Lomira man was arrested Friday following a domestic abuse incident. Late in the evening on Thursday, Dodge County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of physical domestic abuse on Linden Court in Lomira.

The victim was able to be evacuated from the residence to safety, shortly after law enforcement arrived on scene. The suspect, reportedly identified as Anthony Johnson, refused to exit the home and a perimeter was established. Deputies on scene continued to try and convince Johnson to leave the residence, but he reportedly refused.

Sheriff’s officials say an investigation established that probable cause of felony assault charges as well as the use of a firearm during the incident. A search warrant was obtained and nearly 12 hours into the investigation, a crises negotiator from the sheriff’s office arranged for Johnson to exit the residence where he was immediately taken into custody.

Johson was booked into the county jail on a felony charge of Strangulation or Suffocation and misdemeanor counts of Battery, Disorderly Conduct, and Intentionally Pointing a Firearm at Another Person.

A firearm was seized as evidence during a search of the home. Authorities say drugs and drug paraphernalia were also discovered which lead to additional charges of Possession of THC and Drug Paraphernalia.
