Lomira Man Arrested After Two Vehicle Crash In The Town Of Fond Du Lac

(Fond du Lac) A Lomira man was arrested following a two vehicle crash on Highway D in the Town of Fond du Lac early Wednesday morning. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene near Hunter Lane around 12:30am. Initial reporting was that a vehicle had struck a semi-tractor with attached milk tanker with the driver of the vehicle being unconscious but breathing. Preliminary investigation shows that the semi, driven by a 70-year-old Fond du Lac man, was attempting a backing maneuver into a driveway blocking the southbound lanes when a southbound vehicle proceeded to the right and struck the tanker-trailer. The driver of the vehicle, identified as a 33-year-old man from Lomira, was extricated from the vehicle and flown by Lifenet Helicopter to a trauma center for treatment. Authorities say he has been arrested for suspicion of operating a vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant. The crash remains under investigation.
