The Lomira football team held off Grantsburg 26-19 to win the WIAA Division Six State Championship on Thursday afternoon at Madison’s Camp Randall Stadium. Senior running back Taylor Schaumberg ran 29 times for 216 yards and three touchdowns as the Lions won their first state football championship in their debut on the Camp Randall turf. QB Jackson Goebel had an efficient day through the air, completing seven of ten passes for 73 yards and a touchdown. Sam Schraufnagel caught four of those passes for 47 yards and touchdown.
