(Dodge County) Several local students received scholarships from the Herb Kohl Foundation.
Student Excellence and Initiative Scholarships of $10,000 were awarded to 190 graduating high school students who have demonstrated academic excellence and have displayed a broad range of activity and leadership in their community.
Teacher Fellowship awards of $6,000 were presented to 100 teachers who were nominated for their leadership and service in and outside the classroom, their ability to inspire a love of learning and to motivate their students.
Recipients of the Student Excellence Scholars include Willow Pawlisch who goes to Fall River High School, Dodgeland High Schoolโs Logan Pickart, Alayna Pusch of Rubicon who attends Hartford High School, and Kaitlyn Vander Werff of Waupun who attends Central Wisconsin Christian School.
Those who received Student Initiative Scholars include Cole Kircher of Burnett who attends Randolph High School, Jordan Olson of Cambria-Friesland High School, and Horicon High Schoolโs Alexandra David.
A couple area teachers were honored including Waupunโs Erin Fitch who works at Markesan Intermediate, he received the Teacher Fellowship Award. Gabrielle Zastrow of Watertown, who teachers at Dodgeland Elementary, was also awarded with a Teacher Fellowship.
