Local Sex Trafficking Group Hosting Community Awareness Presentation

(Beaver Dam) A program Tuesday night in Beaver Dam will focus on the reality of sex trafficking in the region. The non-profit group 5-Stones Beaver Dam is hosting a community awareness event entitled Fighting The Giant Of Sex Trafficking. 5-Stones Organizer Tracie Scheffler says there was a tremendous turnout with over 400 people from the community showing up to their program in November. Scheffler says those in attendance wanted a more local look at the issue. 5-Stones Organizer Tracie Scheffler says her group will be presenting material that focuses on educating the public about sex trafficking. Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt will also be speaking. The presentation will cover topics such as what is human trafficking, who are the players, what are the red flags and how the practice is succeeding in our culture. Scheffler says Schmidt will provide a local update and speak about what parents can do to keep their kids safe. The community awareness event will be held at the Harvest Church on Highway 33 east of the city of Beaver Dam across from the fairgrounds. The program begins at 6:30pm and is open to the community; it is recommended for those ages 13 and up. More information is on the 5-Stones website and Facebook pages:
