The Columbus Post 62 American Legion baseball team sent 11 men to the plate and scored 7 runs in each of the 1st two innings to blow by Beaver Dam Post 146 White Construction 18-7 on Thursday night at the BDHS Diamond. Columbus’ Brady Link had a monster day, going 4×4, hitting for the cycle with a single, double, triple and a home run. He drove in six runs and scored three runs.
“It’s the first time I’ve been involved in a game where someone hit for the cycle.” C-Bus coach Tim Stormer told DailyDodge.com. “He’s that kind of an athlete. He had a really good game the other night. He’s got two home runs, two doubles and a triple in the last two games. Outstanding. He’s a really good athlete.”
Jefferson Mobry doubled, drove in three and scored a pair of runs while AJ Uttech also doubled drove in a pair and scored two runs for Columbus. Devin Piedescalzzi went 2×2 with a pair of RBI.
Ben Scharfenberg went 3×3 with a triple and 3 RBI to pace Post 146. Alex Woods went 2×2 with a triple and a run scored.
Uttech struck out five, walked four and gave up just five hits and seven runs (just one earned) to collect the victory. James Westover took the loss for Beaver Dam.
Beaver Dam (4-3) heads to Stevens Point this weekend for the Firecracker Classic. Columbus (2-3) will host Waupun on Tuesday
