Lights Fest Returns To Dodge County Fair

(Beaver Dam) A popular event will be returning to the Dodge County Fairgrounds this year. The Lights Fest joins thousands of participants as hundreds of personalized sky lamps take to the night sky. Attendees can write memorials, declare goals or celebrate an accomplishment on their lanterns which will then be lit with a tiki torch before they are released. Fair organizers say they expect participants to travel from Madison, Milwaukee, Green Bay and the Fox Valley for this unique experience. The family-friendly event will feature face painting, magicians, balloon artists and dancers. Light-up toys and gear will also be available for purchase. Those interested in attending are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets and jackets. The Lights Fest will be held on Saturday, June 16, and will begin around 4pm with the lanterns to be released at dusk. Individuals can pre-register online for $35 dollars or pay up to $55 dollars at the event. Children ages four-through-twelve will receive a reduced rate and those under three-years-of-age are admitted for free with a paying adult. The adult ticket price includes a lantern and marker.
