(MADISON) The last person injured in a school shooting in Madison last year is out of the hospital.
Samy Garduno-Martinez was discharged from American Family Children’s Hospital on Wednesday, meaning no more victims from December’s mass shooting at Abundant Life Christian School are receiving inpatient care.
Samy was admitted on Dec. 16, the day a 15-year-old student allegedly killed another student and a teacher at the school. Samy was one of six students who were injured.
Samy got a big send-off on Wednesday, including a motorcade procession across Madison’s Beltline Highway. His family has set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for his ongoing treatment at a specialized rehabilitation center in the Chicago area.
