(Fond du Lac) Moraine Park Technical College in conjunction with the Wisconsin Technical Colleges System board have selected Kreilkamp Trucking as the recipient of the 2024 Futuremaker Partner Award.
The award was presented by WTCS President S. Mark Tyler and Moraine Park President Bonnie Baerwald on March 19. The award recognizes the unique and dynamic partnerships between Wisconsin technical colleges and their employer partners. In 2022, Moraine Park and Tim Kreilkamp joined forces to create the Wisconsin Regional Truck Driving Academy, a career opportunity to help respond to work shortages. The program was created to address the challenging process of obtaining a commercial driverโs license, access to a semi road test, and the cost of attending driving school, with tuition costing $5,000 dollars up front for training. Both parties brought different assets including the tools, space for classrooms, and educational resources.
After completing the program, participants will have a Moraine Park technical diploma, be employed by Kreilkamp, and begin working immediately, with a starting salary of $61,000 dollars per year. Since the first class in February 2022, 13 have completed the course resulting in supplying the trucking industry with more than 150 additional truck drivers.ย
