Kaul, Kieffer, Woltman Heading To BDHS Athletic Hall Of Fame

The Beaver Dam High School Athletic Hall of Fame Selection Committee has selected three inductees for the Class of 2026. Induction ceremonies will take place during the BDHS Homecoming celebration on Sept. 25, 2026.


Megan Kaul | Athlete

Tennis

  • Two-time Conference Champion
  • 2011 WIAA State Tournament Qualifier
  • Team MVP

Basketball

  • Member of four conference championship teams
  • Played on the 2010 WIAA State Tournament team
  • 2013 Wisconsin Little Ten Conference Player of the Year
  • 2013 First-Team All-Conference
  • Team MVP
  • Participated in the 2013 WBCA All-Star Game

Soccer

  • 2013 All-Conference selection
  • Team MVP

College & Career

At the University of Wisconsin, Kaul played on the club basketball team that finished as the 2016 NIRSA National Runner-Up and captured the 2017 NIRSA National Championship.

She currently serves as a school psychologist for the Beaver Dam Unified School District.


Terry Kieffer | Coach

Kieffer has served as an assistant baseball coach at Beaver Dam High School since 1981 and is widely respected for his 45-year career as the program’s pitching coach.

Coaching Accomplishments

  • Helped develop countless All-Conference, All-State, collegiate and professional pitchers
  • American Legion Baseball head coach for 18 years
  • Qualified for 11 state tournaments
  • Won two state championships
  • 1985 WBCA All-Star Game coach
  • 2000 WBCA Assistant Coach of the Year
  • 2020 WBCA Distinguished Service Award recipient

Education & Service

  • Physical education teacher for the Beaver Dam Unified School District for 28 years
  • 2003 Beaver Dam Middle School Teacher of the Year
  • Also coached basketball, football, softball and track

Playing Career

  • Graduated from Lake City (Minn.) High School in 1971
  • Inducted into the Lake City High School Hall of Fame in 2007
  • Played baseball at the University of New Orleans (1971-73)
  • NCAA All-American
  • Played on two College World Series teams
  • Drafted by the Montreal Expos in 1973
  • Drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in 1974 and played professionally in the minor leagues
  • 1974 Louisiana State Amateur Athlete of the Year
  • Inducted into the University of New Orleans Hall of Fame in 2025

Melissa Woltman | Athlete

Track & Field

  • Won 11 conference championships during her career
  • Qualified for three WIAA Division 1 State Track Meets
  • Third place in the 400-meter run at the 2001 state meet
  • Fourth place in the 100-meter dash at the 2001 state meet
  • Two-time school record holder
  • Two-time team captain
  • Team MVP

Gymnastics

  • 2001 Wisconsin Little Ten Conference Gymnast of the Year
  • Won three conference championships

Woltman competed on a track and field scholarship at the University of Minnesota, where she:

  • Earned four varsity letters
  • Was a four-time Academic All-Big Ten selection
  • Served as a two-time team captain
  • Qualified for four Indoor and four Outdoor Big Ten Championships
  • Continues to rank among Minnesota’s all-time top performers in three events

Today, Woltman is a senior leader with Octagon Sports Marketing in Los Angeles. An avid marathon runner, she has completed marathons around the world and is one marathon away from earning the prestigious Abbott World Marathon Majors Six Star Medal.

The Beaver Dam High School Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2026 will be formally inducted during Homecoming festivities on Sept. 25, 2026.
