Jury In Fox Lake Murder Trial To Be From Outside Dodge County

(Juneau) A Dodge County judge on Wednesday denied a defense motion to move the trial of a Fox Lake murder suspect out of the county. 37-year-old Laverne Ware Jr. is facing felony charges of First Degree Intentional Homicide, Hiding a Corpse, Incest and Felon In Possession of a Firearm in connection with the December 2016 death of his girlfriend and first cousin, Sesalie Dixon. The 27-year-old Dixon was found in the cab of Wareโ€™s pick-up truck inside a Fox Lake garage with a gunshot wound to the head. While Judge Brian Pfitzinger denied the change of venue motion, he did grant a motion to have the jury selected from outside Dodge County. Wareโ€™s attorney yesterday also moved to dismiss the case, accusing the district attorney of โ€œvindictive prosecutionโ€ but that motion was denied. A motion to appoint a special prosecutor was also denied. The judge yesterday also struck District Attorney Kurt Klomberg from the defense counselโ€™s witness list. Earlier this month, Judge Pfitzinger did agree to postpone Wareโ€™s two-week jury trial from next month until mid-September.
