Juneau Woman Killed In Pickup Versus Semi Collision Near Neosho

(Town of Ashippun) One person was killed in a collision between a pickup truck and semi-truck Monday afternoon in the Town of Ashippun. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office says the westbound Ford F350 failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of State Highway 67 and Town Road MM and was struck by the southbound semi-tractor trailer.

The vehicles then entered the ditch area and struck a power pole with lives wires, which fell on top of both vehicles and likely led to some power outages in the area. A 45-year-old Juneau woman, who was the sole occupant of the pickup, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 21-year-old man driving the semi, and his 22-year-old passenger – both from Manitoba, Canada – were not injured.

Investigators say failing to stop at a stop sign was a primary factor while seatbelt usage and inattentive driving are being considered possible factors. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Wisconsin State Patrol, Western Lakes EMS, the Ashippun Fire Department, the sheriff’s office Crash Investigation Team, chaplains from the sheriff’s office, Dodge County Emergency Management, the Dodge County Highway Department, the Dodge County Emergency Response Team and WE Energies.
