(Juneau) A fire caused roughly $80,000 in damages to a manufacturing facility in Juneau Thursday evening. The Juneau Fire Department, along with auto aid partners Burnett Fire and Horicon, were dispatched to Animix located at 172 East Cross Street at 7:31pm.
Upon arrival, crews pulled a hose line to the north west corner of the building and started applying water to the roof. A second crew gained entry to the building and stretched a line to the fireโs point of origin.
Juneau Fire Chief Ed Weiss says the interior crew had a quick knock down and was able to keep the blaze to its room and contents. He adds that other mutual aid companies assisted with overhaul and checking for flames that had spread.
There was significant damage to the roof, which was made of rubber membrane. Firefighters spent about an hour ventilating the building.
Weiss notes that there were also multiple calls in the county for an ATV accident. He says both incidents were able to receive the resources they needed due to the MABAS alarm system and the professionals in the Dodge County Dispatch Center.
Assisting at the scene were Horicon Fire, Burnet Fire, Horicon EMS Juneau EMS, Cyman-Lowell-Reeseville Fire, Mayville Fire, Hustisford Fire, Iron Ridge Fire, Beaver Dam Fire, Theresa Fire, Brownsville Fire, and Mayville EMS.
