Juneau Man Charged With Fleeing Police

(Beaver Dam) A Juneau man made his initial appearance in court on charges he ran from Beaver Dam police. Jonathan Prag is facing a felony count of Fleeing and a misdemeanor charge of Resisting. An officer was dispatched to a business on Park Avenue for a report of a suspicious vehicle with a black hood and loud muffler Monday (March 8th). A vehicle matching that description was later located by police and accelerated away when officers activated their emergency lights.

The vehicle was clocked going roughly 85-miles-per-hour in a 25-mile-per-hour zone on North Spring Street but stopped once it reached Industrial Drive. A high-risk traffic stop was performed and Prag was allegedly identified as the driver. Prag was reportedly under the influence of methamphetamine and was taken to the Beaver Dam hospital.

At the hospital, he allegedly ran on foot from police but was captured a short distance later. If convicted, the 23-year-old faces over four years in prison. A signature bond was set at $500 and a preliminary hearing is scheduled next week.
