6/14/17 – The Juneau Common Council last night approved a number of personnel changes. The one change that the public may notice is when they try to pay a Juneau Utility bill in person. All utility billing responsibilities have been moved to the utility office though a drop box will remain at City Hall. In addition, a full-time Utility Billing Clerk position was approved last night, a candidate has accepted the job and the changes will take effect when the new hire is fully trained. Meanwhile, city employees will see some changes. Among them, Juneau is going paperless as employees will now be able to receive their paycheck via direct deposit. The comp time policy was also clarified. Wording was added that now states that employees will not be paid for unused for remaining comp time the time of their termination, retirement or resignation. Additional resolutions also streamlined vacation policy and longevity pay.
