JUNEAU – Professional Dairy Producers is inviting community members and dairy industry supporters to donate blood during June Dairy Month.
PDP says its third annual Community Blood Drive will be held from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, June 22, at the organizationโs headquarters, 820 North Main Street in Juneau. The drive is being coordinated by the American Red Cross.
The event is meant to honor dairy farmers and dairy professionals while supporting the community through blood donation. PDP says donors will be offered dairy treats, including grilled cheese sandwiches, yogurt, milk and cookies, and ice cream.
The Red Cross says donors who come to give blood, platelets, or AB Elite plasma from June 1 through June 28 are eligible for a $15 e-gift card to a merchant of their choice. The agency says donors will also be entered for a chance to win one of two $7,500 gift cards.
Those interested in donating are encouraged to register for a preferred time slot through the American Red Cross and select the Monday, June 22, Professional Dairy Producers event. Donors are advised to drink plenty of water and eat a healthy meal before donating.
