(Dodge County) Vehicle sales in Dodge County through July have seen a sharp increase after struggling last year due to the pandemic. According to the Waterloo-based, auto industry tracking firm Reg-Trak, 2,382 vehicles rolled off dealer lots through July in Dodge County, an increase of 24-percent. Truck sales were up 23-percent with 2,128 sold. Car sales rose to over 25-percent with 254 units sold compared to 203 in 2020. In Columbia County, there were 1,688 vehicles sold this year, up 27-percent from last year. The number of trucks purchased in 2021 increased by 27-percent also with 1,481 sold. Car sales jumped from 157 to 207 sold this year, an increase of nearly 32-percent. Consumers in Jefferson County bought 405 more trucks in 2021, a jump of 36-percent. Car sales increased by 29-percent with 230 sold this year compared to 178 in 2020. There were 1,748 total vehicle sales in Jefferson County, an overall increase of 35-percent. The nine-county, south central Wisconsin region as a whole saw 27-thousand vehicle sales, an increase of 23-percent over last year. Overall truck sales in 2021 were up 25-percent while car sales increased 13-percent.
