(WASHINGTON, DC) It’s all but guaranteed that 24 million Americans will see their health insurance premiums double – or even quadruple next year.
The U.S. House of Representatives seems unlikely to take up a vote on extending Obamacare enhanced subsidies before Congress breaks for the holidays at the end of the week. Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wisconsin) told our sister station, 620 WTMJ, that the pain won’t be that widespread.
“Of the supposedly 24 million people on the exchanges, more than 22 million will just revert to original Obamacare subsidies. If you don’t like that, blame Obama.”
Republicans say they’ll pursue their own plan, aimed at expanding coverage options for small businesses and the self-employed.
