(Columbus) There is a new mayor in Columbus. The contested race saw Joe Hammer defeat Ian Gray. Hammer says he is excited to get to work.
“I’m extremely happy that the citizens of Columbus have put their confidence in me,” Hammer tells DailyDodge. “I feel very strongly about how things have been transgressing in this community of ours and I am looking very forward to working with staff and other council members to start rectifying some of the situations to gain more transparency.”
Hammer garnered 1,008 votes to Gray’s 733. He succeeds Mary Arnold who did not seek reelection.
