(Cold Spring) Jefferson County authorities says a woman struck by a vehicle in the town of Cold Spring over the weekend has succumbed to her injuries. Sheriff’s deputies were called to the crash on Highway N south of Highway U just before 10pm Saturday.
The preliminary investigation showed that a group of pedestrians were attempting to cross N when one of them was hit by a vehicle traveling north. The driver was not injured and stayed on scene until law enforcement arrived.
The pedestrian, identified as Maricela Del Carmen Rivas Rivas from the Whitewater area, was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries. Authorities learned Monday that the 30-year-old passed away.
The incident is still under investigation.
