James “Jim” G. Evers

James “Jim” G. Evers, 89, of Beaver Dam passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.

James was born on February 20, 1937 the son of George and Thelma (Nehmer) Evers in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He was married to Sharon Deibert on August 12, 1978 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church.

Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he was an instructor of missile maintenance. He drove truck and dispatched for Hanefeld Bros. for many years and was affectionally known as Lobo. Jim also enjoyed fishing and woodworking in his shop and was proud to be one of the first in Menards when they opened. Jim was a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Burnett and the Horicon American Legion Post 157.

Jim will be deeply missed by his wife of 47 years Sharon; his son Anthony (Sue) Evers; grandchildren: Sophia and Olivia Evers; sisters and brother-in-law: Beverly Schultz, Fred (Loretta) Deibert and Mary Deibert; nieces and nephews: Pat (Bill) King, Lori (Rob) Quant, Mari (Jeff) Hiedeman, Gordon (April) Schultz, Gary (Laura) Schultz, Diane (Bucky) Hiley, Dale (Kim) Deibert, Denise Deibert, Scott (Nicole) Deibert, Michael Deibert and Mathew Deibert.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lawrence, in laws: Elmer and Elnora Deibert, bothers and sisters-in-law: Ken (Marion) Deibert, David (Judy) Deibert, and Keith Deibert, nephews: Daryl Deibert, Todd Deibert and Carl Evers.

A memorial gathering for Jim will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Burnett. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Timothy Sallach officiating. Inurnment will follow at Burnett Union Cemetery and military honors will be conducted by the Horicon American Legion Post 157.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, N8523 Front St. Burnett, Wisconsin.
