Iron Ridge Fire Department Assists During Flooding Event

(Iron Ridge) The Iron Ridge Fire Department assisted the village’s Department of Public Works with a flooding event Tuesday morning. Officials with the agency say roads, businesses, and residences were affected on West Pleasant Street and Michael Drive following Monday night’s storm.

The Fire Department provided an engine to help with pumping and diverting the water from the sanitary sewer and manpower as well as equipment for traffic control and stand-by water rescue.

Members of the fire department say this was a great example of all public services and outside entities in the village coming together to prevent further damage to residences, businesses, and property. They also thanked Advanced Towing and Repair for their assistance and use of equipment.

Water levels in the village exceeded a depth of four feet or more with multiple homes experiencing flooding and sewer backups in their basements and lower levels.
