Intersection In Columbia County Will Be Turned Into Roundabout

(Leeds) An intersection in Columbia County will be improved starting next Monday, May 16th. The governor recently signed a $2.8-million-dollar contract to upgrade the Highway 51/Highway 22/Highway 60 intersection in the town of North Leeds.

Crews will be reconstructing and realigning the road into a roundabout as well as removing the curve along Highway 51. The roundabout will accommodate all vehicle types, including farm implements and large trucks. During construction, traffic on 22 will be detoured via 51 and County Road CS.

The Highway 60 detour follows 51, County Road K, and County Road C. Access along Highway 51 will be maintained until the new alignment opens through the roundabout intersection. Work is scheduled for completion in October and is dependent upon favorable weather conditions.
