(Juneau) Voters will see a contested race for the District 31 County Board seat when they go to the polls next Tuesday. Incumbent Kevin Burnett is serving his first term on the county board, he also is in his third term as alderman in the 13th ward in the city of Beaver Dam. Burnett says he is the most experienced candidate and that his challenger, Scott Petrack who worked for Dodge County, had been fired after numerous reprimands and one suspension. He says he questions Petrack’s motives for running and how dedicated he really is to Dodge County. Burnett adds that he is proud to serve the people of his district
During Tuesday’s appearance on WBEV’s Community Comment, Petrack refuted Burnett’s claims that he was let go while employed by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office. He says he resigned and two months later was hired by the city of Mayville as a cop. Petrack also served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps.
