Hustisford School District Begins Dissolution

(HUSTISFORD) The Hustisford School Board took its first formal step toward potentially dissolving the district by approving a resolution Wednesday night to explore that option.

Interim Superintendent Todd Bugnacki said the action officially launches the dissolution process.

As part of the next steps, the district clerk will submit a certified copy of the resolution to the Department of Public Instruction for review by the School District Boundary Appeal Board (SDBAB), which oversees how a districtโ€™s assets and territory would be divided.

While district officials will provide input, Bugnacki noted that final decisions will rest with the state board.

Following the resolution, the school board has until Aug. 1 to take further action. By July, board members could vote to formally dissolve the district. If no action is taken by the August deadline, the proposal is automatically considered rejected. If approved by the SDBAB, any dissolution would take effect July 1 of the following year.

In addition to the dissolution discussion, the board also handled routine business related to athletic partnerships.

Bugnacki said the district must annually approve cooperative sports agreements for upcoming seasons. The board approved a new track partnership with Dodgeland Schools and renewed its existing girls’ soccer co-op with Dodgeland for the 2026โ€“27 school year.
