Today at 9:37am the Columbus Fire Department was dispatched to W614 Fox Road in the Town of Columbus for a house on fire.  Columbus Fire arrived on scene at 9:45am with fire coming out of the front and left side of the structure.  All occupants were out of the house but we were told that 1 dog was inside the house in the downstairs bedroom.  Fire crews attacked the fire and searched for the dog at the same time.  The dog was located on the 1st floor living room and brought outside. Rescuing efforts were attempted but the dog took in too much smoke as was not able to be saved.  We continued attacking the fire and called in more help from surrounding areas.  The house is not livable at this time.  The cause of the fire is undetermined and 1 person who was at the residence when the fire started was treated on scene and released with no injuries.  No injuries were reported to me from any firefighters.  Assisting Columbus Fire today was Columbus Police, Columbia County Sheriff, Fire Departments from Fall River, Sun Prairie, Marshall, Waterloo, Rio, Beaver Dam, Arlington, DeForest, Madison, and CLR.  Randolph stood by at the station incase we had another call.   Columbus crews cleared the scene at 2:15pm.
