In a rare Monday Night high school football game, Cambria-Friesland blew by Dodgeland 40-0 in Juneau in a game broadcast on DailyDodge TV.
Cambria-Friesland senior Owen Jones had a big night, rushing for a pair of scores and 86 yards on 12 carries. He added an 88-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to open the 2nd half and also had an interception. Sophomore Trevor Krueger carried the ball 20 times for 71 yards and a score. Drake Burmania added a 2nd half TD run while Jay Younger connected with Isaac DeYoung on a 44 yard touchdown pass in the 4th quarter. Braxton Kohn and Caden Brugger paced the Trojan attack with 18 yards each on the ground. The Hilltoppers outgained Dodgeland 256-94 on the day.
Cambria-Friesland (1-1) will host St. John’s Northwestern Academies on Friday. Dodgeland (0-2) continues their four game homestand to start the season on Friday night when they host Clinton.
The game was originally scheduled for Friday night, but heavy rains in Juneau made the field unplayable.
