(STATEWIDE) Wisconsin could be in for a spike in flu cases in the coming weeks. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services says only about 23% of people in the state have had their flu shots for the season. Health officials say a low vaccination rate could be bad news once people start traveling for the holidays.
As many as 82 million Americans came down with the flu last season. The flu was either the cause, or a contributing factor, in at least 27,000 U.S deaths. Fewer than half of all eligible Americans got a flu shot last season.
