(OAKFIELD) One person was killed in a head-on collision on Highway 151 in the town of Oakfield Tuesday afternoon. Fond du Lac County sheriff’s deputies were called to the accident near Thill Road around 12:27pm.
An 81-year-old woman from Sun Prairie was pronounced dead at the scene. A 59-year-old Waupun man sustained serious injuries.
Authorities say the woman was traveling south on 151 when she may have suffered a medical emergency. Her vehicle crossed the grass median into the northbound lanes where it struck the Waupun man’s car.
The man attempted to avoid the collision, but this resulted in a sideswipe with another northbound vehicle. Authorities say the occupants of the third vehicle involved were not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
