Harry A. Jacobson

Harry A. Jacobson, age 90, of Brownsville passed away peacefully on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Sage Meadows in Fond du Lac.

Harry was born the son of Oliver M. and Ann P. (Cleberg) Jacobson on September 19, 1930 in Fond du Lac. He was a 1948 graduate of Mayville High School. Harry attended UW Madison short course in Agriculture and USO Naval School-Construction. Harry served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corp from 1951-1953 active duty and served until his 1959 honorable discharge from his reserve unit.

Harry was united in marriage to Beverly J. Marohl on May 27, 1961 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville. Harry was owner of Jacobson Farmers Supply Inc. in Brownsville.  Brownsville was important to Harry and he served his community in many capacities. Harry was the past president of the Brownsville Community Club. He was a charter member and past president of the Brownsville Lions Club and was also a Lions International Melvin Jones Fellowship recipient. Harry also served on the Brownsville Village Board for over 25 years and served as village president  from 1987-1995. He was a board member of IDO (Independent Dealers Organization) in Fall River and also served as it’s past president. Harry was past president of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Brownsville and past president of the Lutheran Bus Association. He was a past member of the Brownsville Fire Company. Harry was the past president of the senior bowling league on Friday night’s at Dan’s Village Bowl in Brownsville, where he bowled for over 50 years. He was a current member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville.

Harry is survived by his daughter Terri of Brownsville. His sister- Virginia A. (Jacobson) Armour of Waite Park, MN. His godchildren- Sherry Schultz of Madison, Todd Jacobson of Australia, Rhonda Strook of Fond du Lac, and Matthew Westphal of Brownsville. His family dog- Mollie. Special friends-  Dean (Nancy) Conger and neighbors-  Ron (Julie) Freitag. Further survived by 5 nephews, 1 niece, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death his parents, his wife Beverly, sister Janice Jacobson, and brother Oliver.

A private family service will be held at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville with the Rev. Dr. Mark J. Cutler officiating. The service will be live streamed on the St. John Ev. Lutheran Church’s facebook page. Burial will take place at St. John Cemetery in Mayville with military honors conducted by the Mayville American Legion Post #69. A public celebration of Harry’s life will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to the St. John’s Lutheran Church-Living Trust, Winnebago Lutheran Academy -WLA Student Aid Fund, and Agnesian Hospice.
