Gunman In Mayville Shooting Dies From Self-Inflicted Injuries

(Mayville) The suspect in last month’s shooting in Mayville has succumbed to his injuries. That’s according to Mayville Police Chief James Ketchem who says that Dennis K. Tollkuehn died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound that occurred on the evening of September 16th at the Spring Glen Apartments. The 72-year-old was the sole suspect in the shooting. The three victims are still recuperating from their injuries at area hospitals. Chief Ketchem reminds the public that this was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public. Authorities had previously said that the gunman knew the three victims. He apparently approached the group at the Horicon Street apartment complex and an argument ensued. Tollkuehn brandished a firearm and shot the three individuals before shooting himself. The victims are a 53-year-old woman, a 64-year-old woman and a 67-year-old man. Lifesaving measures were performed, and all four were transported by air to local trauma centers. Authorities initially indicated that all four people, including the gunmen, were expected to survive.
