Grothman Lauds “Big Beautiful Bill”

(FOND DU LAC) U.S. Rep. Glen Grothman (R-Greenbush) told WBEV’s “Community Comment” that Washington’s biggest accomplishment this year was passing President Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill.” He said he’s skeptical that budget cuts will cause millions to lose their Medicaid coverage.

“First of all, it doesn’t include disabled people. It doesn’t include children. In order to keep it if you’re an able-bodied adult, all you have to do is work or volunteer for 20 hours a week, and you have another year and a half before that provision kicks in, so you certainly have a lot of time to plan for it,” said Grothman.

The Congressional Budget Office had estimated the number of uninsured Americans would increase by 10 million over a decade because of the legislation.

Grothman says he’s disappointed the “Big Beautiful Bill” did not rein in more spending.
