The Beaver Dam High School softball team hit the practice field for the first time on Monday. Temps were in the mid-60s allowing the team to get their first workout in outside. Head coach Abby Schmitt told 1430 ESPN Beaver Dam that their numbers are down a bit with 24 girls out for the program.
The Golden Beavers bring back a good nucleus of players that helped them go 18-8 last season and finish runner-up in the Badger East one game behind league champ Milton.
Beaver Dam is scheduled to open the season on April 4th at Watertown. The home opener is scheduled for Tuesday, April 9th against Waunakee.
