Governor Orders Flags At Half-Staff In Observance Of September 11th Attacks

(Madison) The governor ordering flags at half-staff in observance of the 3000 Americans who lost their lives in the attacks on September 11, 2001. In addition, the executive order declares Saturday as a โ€œState Day of Serviceโ€ and encourages all Wisconsin residents to commit acts of service and do good in their communities in commemoration of the lives lost. Governor Tony Evers says today is a day to (quote) โ€œreflect on the significance and the effects that the attacks on 9/11 have had on our nation over the last two decades.โ€ย  Evers recognized the โ€œheroic first responders who ran toward danger without second thoughtโ€ and asks Wisconsinites to โ€œreflect on this tragedy while calling upon our spirit of service, resilience, and community to let this day forever be defined not by terror but by our commitment to helping each other in times of great need.โ€ The executive order asks that the flags of the United States and the state of Wisconsin be flown at half-staff from sunrise to through Sunday.
