The Watertown High School softball team won the outright Badger Large Conference title with a 4-0 win over Beaver Dam on Friday at the BDHS Diamond.
The Goslings got on the board first, when Allsion Howlett led off the top of the 2nd with a monster solo home run off the scoreboard in left field. Lexi Lambert then crushed a three run shot in the top of the 7th for three more insurance runs.
Beaver Dam put a pair of runners on base in the bottom of the seven but Craig was able to close the door with a strikeout.
Cali Craig, struck out nine and surrendered just two hits in seven shutout innings to earn the win. Addy Damon took the loss, giving up four runs and 11 hits in seven frames of action.
Watertown (Overall: 18-4, Badger Large 13-1) clinched a share of the title on Thursday when DeForest upset previous league leader Oregon 8-7. The Goslings will face Germantown on Tuesday in their final regular season game. They have a first round by in the Division One playoffs and will host a Regional Final next Thursday.
Beaver Dam (14-10, 7-7) opens up playoff action on Tuesday when they host Sheboygan North for a Regional Final. You can hear that game on 1430 ESPN Beaver Dam and watch it on DailyDodge TV. Coverage will begin at 4:45pm with the first pitch set for 5pm.
