Good Karma Brands Celebrates 20th Anniversary

12/2/17 – Good Karma Brands, parent company of WBEV/WXRO, is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Over the years the company has diversified to include operating as an affiliate with ESPN, run multiple Verizon retail stores, and owns a home furnishing brand with the Home Market. Good Karma has also expanded into Cleveland, West Palm, Baltimore, and Washington DC. Founder and CEO Craig Karmazin says the company’s roots are planted right here in Beaver Dam. He says 20 years ago today the keys were handed over and Good Karma Brands began. Karmazin was just 22 years old when he purchased the radio station. He says at the time he was overwhelmed and sought the help of his dad, Mel Karmazin, who served as CEO of CBS and Sirius Radio. He says his dad told him to always make yourself available to your teammates. Recently on WBEV’s Community Comment, Karmazin explains what the Beaver Dam radio station means to him. He says Beaver Dam is the heartbeat of the company. Karmazin says what he is most proud of is being able to maintain the success of the Beaver Dam radio station.
