Golden Beavers Sweep Bulldog Quad, Cap Historic Regular Season

The Beaver Dam High School girls soccer team closed out the regular season in dominant fashion, posting three convincing victories at the West Allis Central Bulldog Quad on Saturday.

The Golden Beavers opened the day with an 11-0 rout of host West Allis Central. Beaver Dam erupted for five goals in the first eight minutes and carried an 8-0 lead into halftime. Sheamarie Ashley led the offensive onslaught with five goals, while Brenna Rhodes added four. Kacie VanPembrook and Natalie Tietz also found the back of the net. Paige Nehmer recorded two assists, while Carolina Mendoza, Chloe Lauth, Mackinsey Lepple, and Rhodes each added one. Goalkeeper Olivia Bates was not tested as Beaver Dam outshot Central 28-0.

In the second match of the day, Beaver Dam defeated Tenor/Veritas 3-1. Ashley tallied a goal and two assists, while Nehmer and Rhodes each scored once. Goalkeeper Jenn Kopplin earned the victory with three saves.

The Golden Beavers completed the sweep with a 3-0 victory over Cudahy in the tournament finale. Camila Castillo scored the first two goals of the match before Lauth added the third. Sophia Vertz contributed two assists, while Rhodes added another helper. Bates once again did not face a shot on goal as Beaver Dam outshot Cudahy 26-0.

Beaver Dam improved to 11-8-2 with the trifecta of victories. That wraps up the winningest regular season in program history. The Golden Beavers will begin WIAA Division 1 postseason play on Tuesday when they travel to Racine Park for a Regional Semifinal.
